Jeremy's Knee Injury!

OK... We just got back from the doctor. His medial ligament is damaged but doesn't look torn. His meniscus looks intact. The problem is that his ACL looks blown and he broke his knee bones. It looks like a serious break. He has to be on crutches and a brace. Absolutely no weight can be put on that leg. The problem with that is he did not stay off of it this weekend. You can tell by the past posts that he went fishing, ran/hobbled down the street for 4th of July and pretty much did what ever he wanted. Hopefully he did not damage the bones worse over the weekend.

The doctor is concerned. He feels that it is a serious break and we are looking at life long problems if J does not stay off it. We will see the doctor in 2 weeks to see if the swelling has gone down and the bones start to heal. The swelling of the ACL tear will also need to go down before we can look at surgery. Surgery will probably be scheduled soon after that.

If the ACL is the only problem, then Jeremy will probably only need to be on crutches another week after surgery. If his meniscus is torn and needs to be repaired then he will have 6 to 7 weeks on crutches. This goes into school time.

We will keep you updated. :(

Happy 4th Of July from the Lund's!

Eric, Nyah, Jordan, Melody, Emma and Jeremy

We hope you all had a fabulous 4th of July. We spent the day at home this year. We were supposed to go to the Ranch, but Jeremy hurt his knee and we had to stay for Dr. Apt.
My parents just got back from my mom's graduation and a cruise to celebrate their anniversary and her graduation. My sister Melissa had shoulder surgery the day before and Jim and Lori were on vacation. None of us Idaho Putmans were able to go this year.
We spent the day with my parents and niece Riley and nephew Zach. We went to the parade, BBQ at my parents and did fire works in front of their house. We went home and watched the PF fireworks from our back yard. Because there is a hill behind our house the fire works were at eye level. AWESOME!
Hope you all had a great day celebrating our freedom and Independence.

Mom and Dad's 45th Anniversary!

Mom and Dad at Christmas time!
Top Row: Melissa, Melody, Mom (Bobbie), Angela. Bottom Row: Jim, Dad (Bill) and Joni.

My parents were married on the 4th of July 45 years ago. It was also the day my dad's parents were married. They have a crazy story of getting engaged and breaking up like 7 times. They got married and headed to a place where my dad was supposed to preach. (That should have been a clue to my mom. What kind of honey moon is that???!!!) The car broke down and they had to stay the night at some friends house who had a ton of kids. They ate cold pizza for dinner.

Oh... the photographer at the wedding showed up in a bathrobe, curlers and and slippers. WOW! So every year they go on a yearly honeymoon to make up for the lousy one they had when they got married. 45 years later, 5 kids and 14 grandchildren they have had a crazy, full life. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad.

CDA 4th Of July Parade!

We went to the parade in Coeurd'Alene with my parents. The older kids boycotted it and stayed in bed.
It was hot so we had umbrella's to help. Here is Nyah.

Yay Shriners. Shriners helps our girls with their prosthetic stuff and yearly check up. We are so thankful for them. Sadly they may be closing down in Spokane due to the economy.
Emma and Nyah watching the parade.
Stinkin cute!

This is Nyah's first 4th of July in America. She is quite patriotic. :)
The girls shared an umbrella and a chair for ummm.... 1 minute before they started fighting over it. Emma was more willing to share than Nyah.

It was better to have separate chairs all together. We have learned that we need two of EVERYTHING!
Nyah and Emma watching while sitting on a garbage can. It was in the shade and my dad decided he was going to let the girls sit there. He said that he didn't care if people needed the garbage can. His girls came 1st. :)

Fire Works!

It was pretty amazing to see how all the kids in the neighborhood came running when the fireworks came out. There were cars and people everywhere watching fireworks. It was very fun.

Jeremy's Knee Injury

As you know, Jeremy tore his ACL, Meniscus and Medial muscle on his right leg a year and a half ago. This was done in a football game and a bad tackle. He went through surgery and a 9 month healing process. This was not a fun time for a kid who loves sports. He was able to play football last year and rec. basketball to try and get his speed and skills back up. He had great hope for sports this year.

In June he was at a football camp and injured his left knee. A lot of the same problems, but we were hopeful that nothing major was wrong. He played in Hoop Fest for about 5 minutes and injured his knee again.
We have since gone to the orthopedic doctor, had an MRI and started Physical Therapy. The doctor thought he tore his ACL in that leg. We go back to the doctor tomorrow to determine if he actually tore his ACL and will need surgery. This is a devastating blow for Jeremy. He is 15 and this will be his second knee surgery. He will have to miss the rest of his summer plans and football/basketball in the fall. Please pray for him as we determine what needs to be done.
