Emma's Prosthetic Bike Piece

Emma was given a prosthetic attachment for her bike. Shriners and insurance pays for it. Believe it or not... this little piece cost $1,700.00. I do believe there is something seriously wrong with our medical system.!!!! It is Dora and goes with her Dora bike.
This attachment should help her when steering her bike. This picture is of her in the office at the prosthetic building.

This man owns the business. He has a prosthetic leg and says that coming to work is like going to Santa's work shop. They get to play all day trying to find things to help children. Very fun!

Nyah was so eager to be on the bike too that we often had to break them up from fighting.
After attaching the piece to the bike, we went outside for Emma to try it out on the side walk. She was not all that into it. She saw a cat sitting on the sidewalk and wanted to play with it instead.
Thus... Nyah had her chance. She jumped on the bike and Mr. Thompson decided to try the bike out on her since Emma was not interested. Grrrr.

Make a difference with this one!

I was reading a blog of a family getting ready to go get their baby in China. This was written at the top of their blog. Oh my goodness. I have told many of you the feelings I had at the orphanage with Nyah. The feeling that no matter how much I did or how many children I adopted it would never be enough. I felt like the task was too big. This story stopped my heart and made me feel so good about adopting my girls and making a difference in their lives. But it also made me realize that the task is not done. I may never adopt another child but some how I need to make a difference to more children.

It Makes a Difference to This One!!!!

A rough storm came up one night and left a sandy beach strewn with starfish. The next morning, a child walked along the shore, stopping every few feet to pick up a starfish and flinging it out into the sea. An old man watched the child and finally shouted at him, "Why bother, son? There's too many starfish to make a difference!". With that, the boy picked up another starfish and looked at it intently before heaving out into the sea. He then turned to the old man and said...
"It Makes A Difference To This One"...

This makes me think about how God thinks of us. He came and saved us, just like the little boy. He cared that much!

For those of you who have wondered if we are crazy to adopt a special needs child, take a look at this video. It explains in great detail that most "special needs" aren't really special needs at all...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aa3ZN8Tyzc

Gracie!

The last time we saw Gracie she was in an incubator and was born at 25 weeks. She was only 2 1/2 pounds. She has grown so much! She is so cute!!!
Emma pushing Gracie in her doll stroller. It was a little scary watching her take corners. :/

Nyah and Emma look like they could be sisters. :)

Eric's Brother Aaron

We went to visit Aaron. He is now in a group home in Klamath. He seems so happy there. It is such a blessing for Aaron and Eric's parents. He is now 23. Holy Cow! Every time Eric sees him he sings "Frosty the Snowman." That is Eric and Aaron's song. Aaron laughs and loves to listen to him. It is fun to see them together.

Eric's Visit in Klamath Falls

Eric loves the out doors, as you can tell. While home he went fishing, shooting and more fishing. He was in heaven.

Eric with his best friend from high school, Tony Reasoner.

Here is a picture of them being somewhat MANLY and normal. Not a common pose for these two.
